This 6-week curriculum class will explore the style and inspiration behind the art of some of the best contemporary illustrators. Before children can read, they understand a story through the visual cues an illustrator creates to represent the concept. Art is a powerful tool that help children navigate their world, lend personality to inanimate objects, untangle a multi-layered concept, or explain a complex story to a child. During this session we highlight famous illustrators who are known for their children’s book illustrations, such as Mary Blair, Jerry Pinkney, and Eric Carle to name but a few.
Tuesdays from 3:45pm - 4:45pm, January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11 and 18.
